Propagation
Stratify seeds for 2 to 3 months during winter in peat and sow seeds in pots, then place them in a cold frame. Germination may take up to 9 months.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate-oblong to cordate, glossy upper surface and a pale tomentose underside. The apex is acute and the petiole is up to 12mm (½in) long. The margin is slightly serrated and entire on lower third. During autumn the leaves turn yellow and scarlet crimson.

Flower: Flowers are pinkish when young and fade to white as they mature. They are arranged in a globular terminal cyme that is up to 90mm (3½in) wide appearing during early spring.

Fruit: The slightly flat rounded fruit is not normally seenand the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
