Propagation
Divide the clump during late winter to spring to maintain true to type.
Sow fresh seed during autumn in containers and place in a protected environment. When planting out from winter to spring space 700 mm (2ft) apart.

Culture
Water moderately during the growing period and is easy to grow if planted in late winter to spring. It is moderately deer resistant.


Botanic information
Leaf: The lanceolate leaves clasp the stem higher in the plant and are sparsely toothed. They have a pale green midrib and the apex is acute to acuminate.

Flower: The large flowerheadstand on a 600mm (2ft)stem appearing throughout summer. Remove the spent flower heads for a longer flowering period.

Fruit: The small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
