Propagation
Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer and apply bottom heat.
Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring and in cold climates place in a cold frame to germinate.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are lanceolate to narrow-elliptical with a cuneate base and an acute apex. The margin is crenate to serrate and the upper surface is glabrous. The underside slightly pubescent and the petiole is up to 10mm (?in) long.
Flower: The small white 5 petalled crateriform flowers are arranged in compound corymb towards the end of the branches and appear on the previous season`s growth during spring.
Fruit: This plant produces an abundance of orange to red pomes that look like tiny apples. They persist on the plant throughout winter and are a feature of the plant. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
