Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring or when available in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. Pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

Culture
General pruning information
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green phyllodes are continuous with the stem tapering at the tip into a long sharp point.

Flower: The bisexual flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals with prominentstamens. They large deep yellow balls and stand alone on short, smooth stems and the buds are encased in brown bracts.

Fruit: The pods are twisted and constricted between seeds. The seeds are dark brown with paler centre, oval shape 3mm by 2mm, arranged longitudinally in pod almost straight seed, stalk ending in a thickened aril.
