Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring or when available in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. Pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

General pruning information
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers and damaged material should be removed.
Botanic information
Leaf: The small pointed phyllodes are slightly curved and almost terete with a rough hairy texture. They are arranged alternately or whorled particularly towards the end of the branchlets.
Flower: The bisexual flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals with prominentstamens and up to 30 are arranged in a ball-shaped cluster on asmooth peduncle up to 15mm (?in) long. They appear solitary in the leaf axils towards the end of the branches during early spring.
Fruit: The oblong flattened pods are blue-black and the slightly constricted seeds are arranged transversely. The seeds are black up to 4mm (?in) long and have a cup-like aril.
